• Manage and direct technology transfer, most recently to build pilot-fed batch fermentation unit for fungal fermentation to produce cellulase enzyme.• Facilitate the interpretation of customer and market needs and translate such needs into technical targets for the cellulose enzymes and GMO yeast for the R&D program. • Build and maintain technical rapport with key development partners and potential customers.• Continuously monitor competitive developments in the cellulosic ethanol field to determine potential impact on DSM programs.• Guide the development of internal DSM test protocols, providing significant applications data to continuously guide R&D and product development.• Coordinate the external laboratory and pilot testing of DSM cellulase enzymes and GMO yeast at all stages of development. Coskata was a start-up venture capital renewable energy project for which I directed and oversaw the conceptualization, design and site development for the start up of laboratory/ pilot R&D facility and an off-site demonstration plant for the production of bioethanol.

• Directed process development for a patented gasification and fermentation process for bioethanol. • Led a staff of scientists, engineers and technicians in pilot scale and laboratory research and development.• Presented technical details of research and process to potential suppliers and investors. Also participated in technical due diligence.• Processes employed included gasification, gas cleaning, removal of trace toxic components, fermentation, crossflow microfiltration and distillation.• Responsible for integrating the conversion of biomass feedstock into ethanol.• Designed and directed experiments using a wide variety of feedstocks, including corn stover, wood chips, citrus waste, municipal solid waste, and bagasse.• Oversaw laboratory research for bioethanol and waste-to-chemicals projects.
