I grew up in this village and have seen the elders rush to the hospital in case of emergencies by borrowing any car available, which is a scary process. This fear intensified when I saw my mother, who is a heart patient, suffer due to the lack of medical facilities.The thought of building a nursing home had been on my mind for a long time, and when my business, Kuizlo, started doing well, I had access to funds. With the help of two of my father's friends, who had degrees in the healthcare sector, we started working on the project. Our nursing home now serves patients, with a child doctor, a physician, and a chemist (on contract) available. We are also in the process of buying more equipment and are striving to acquire licensing for further expansion. Our aim is to buy machines for ultrasound to provide full facilities for childbirth.One of the best parts of our nursing home is that we have been able to reduce the cost of scans, operations, and consulting fees by 1/4th, making healthcare more accessible to the people in the village.The experience of building S.D Nursing Home has taught me that having clear intentions can lead to finding good people and resources to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
