The project undertaken at NSICT has aimed at understanding the process of yard operations and management. The overall objective of the study was to analyze and study the yard operations and make suggestions to improve efficiency regarding the truck turnaround time, moves per hour of the various equipment's, reduction in the fatalities in the yard operations and yard planning. In the yard management effort has been put to observe and study the utilization of the yard space of the movement of the containers taking into consideration the various safety aspects. It brought to light possible loopholes in managing the container yard and difficulties faced by the management during the operations.
