As part of Essar Steel limited(Hazira),I learnt about the iron-maing and steel-making processes of the premier plant.I studied about corex,one of the most-efficient iron-making process and took up a few working problems of the plant.Took up the problem of quality control of hot corex metal and suggested some thermodynamic and kinetic based ways to ensure higher quality of the pig iron.Also tried to bring in some innovative ways to make use of the corex slag.
