Performed thermal/thermal-electric analysis of X-ray tube filament/emitter to determine V-I characteristics and emitter temperatures for life prediction. Developed procedures and analysis methodology to drastically reduce the solve times and storage requirements for 3D thermal analysis which predominantly involves thermal radiation for very complicated geometries that are typical of X-ray tube assemblies. Developed procedures for verification, testing and analysis of X-ray tube thermal specifications. Developed methodology for material selection for design of compact X-ray tube vacuum frames.Completed a six month bubble assignment at Electric Avenue, Milwaukee. Performed DACE (Design and analysis of computer experiments) using an internal electron-back scatter analysis tool and thermal analysis in ANSYS to determine the optimum design parameters for x-ray tube vacuum frame.
