The Rai & Sharma Family Foundation of Charlotte, founded in 2018, is based upon the conviction that education is fundamental right of every human being. An educated society is essential to a healthy democracy and progress of human kind. The Rai & Sharma Family Foundation provides access to postsecondary education to members of our Bihar, Jharkhand, and Eastern Uttar Pradesh (UP) community in USA and aboard who otherwise would have lesser financial means to fulfill their educational goals. Every year foundation sponsors scholarship to college bound or in college students in greater Charlotte area.

Sparsh of Greater Charlotte (Non-profit registered under 501(c)(3)) established in June’ 2015, an association of 150+ families.Organization Objectives, MissionCreating an environment to preserve culture of Bihar & Jharkhand and the sense of belongingness for families (home away from home),where we can celebrate our way of living, help each other and instill core value(s) to the generations to come.Special Achievements/Accomplishments so far1) COVID : Contribution made towards PM Relief Funds in India and local Charlotte Food Drive. Supported SEWA, group of volunteers made 100s of cloth mask and distributed to essential health and CMS workers in Charlotte City. 2) Social: Active contributor to the social issues of Bihar and Jharkhand. Collected funds locally during last flood disaster(s) in Bihar and Kerala.3) Education: Scholarships for the young talent towards College education for the last 2 years. Support provided to Middle and High school kids in Robotics and other educational activities4) Festivities: Chaath and Holi are two important festival in our culture. We are now celebrating in a big way in Charlotte region5) Festival of India: Participated in the last 4 years showcasing Artwork (Mithila Painting) and Food (Bihari delicacies). 6) Yoga Camps: Conducted yoga camps in Hindu Center for last 2 years7) Health & Wellness: Promotes Healthy Lifestyle through several mini groups in support of physical, mental, spiritual, financial and social well-being of the group. Participated in marathons such as BB&T corporate and Ballantyne 5k and half-marathon, Art of Living retreat etc.
