I have been invited to become a researcher in the experimenting fairness, emotional characteristics and impulsive behavior in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder group therapy in the Affiliated Fuzhou Children's Hospital of Fujian Medical University since. There are ten group therapy sessions in total, which aims to explore the relationship between children's emotional problems, impulsive behavior and sense of fairness, at the same time provide doctors and parents with ideas for ADHD management and treatment for future research. The study focused on children aged 8 years and older with mental retardation, schizophrenia, mood disorder, high blood lead levels and organic brain lesions were excluded. My main duty includes counseling interviews with the candidates and their family members to evaluate their qualifications to join the experiments. In the interviews, my job is to identify what the child’s problem is to help them clarify their responsibility in the treatment. Then I determine the client's physical, material, and psychological resources and barriers to successful treatment. The main part of the process is to apply a reaction chain to direct children to recognize their motivations and Identify situations that trigger aggression and other strong emotional responses, as well as maladaptive behaviors that plague the person or the world around him. I would guide them to analyze the starting point of their impulsion. During data acquisition stage, I will supervise the whole treatment process, collecting participants’ reactions and feedbacks each time, analyzing the data, and drawing conclusions from the experiments. Additionally, I would be in charge of drafting the therapists’ workbook and conducting a meta-analysis based on this series of experiments. It would be a challenging but exciting job that prompts me to explore the unknown psychological areas and help more suffered kids and families.
