Managing the second season of the Journal’s podcast In Session. This season features five episodes that explore the complexities of the New Orleans criminal legal system. We'll hear from local scholars, activists, formerly incarcerated individuals, and professionals as they share their experiences navigating and working to reform a deeply racialized justice system. By amplifying the voices of those directly impacted by incarceration, we aim to inspire students to use their knowledge and privilege to advocate for meaningful change.

-Photographed OR's community outreach events and produced content relating to staff's experience with the criminal justice system-Connected with OR after publishing an article for a journalism class at my university. I interviewed Montrell Carmouche, the senior advisor quality care innovator, about OR’s efforts to end the $30 fee per charge at Orleans Justice Center (OJC). Since writing the article, OJC suspended the $30 processing fee.

- Wrote a memo to be approved by Mayor Cantrell for a warrant reduction community event- Notetaker for criminal justice interagency coordination meetings- Drafted contracts for state grants to fund recidivism reduction programs

- Utilized skills in communication to engage potential customers and assist them in selecting products tailored to their specific needs and desires

- Instructor for ceramics, stained glass, and mosaics classes-Assisted in the direction, supervision, and organization of campers (aged 9-12) in their bunks- Supported campers through their adjustment from pandemic isolation to a dynamic, highly social camp life- Taught ceramics, stained glass, and mosaics to campers

- Assisted senior staff members in art classes- Crafted an immersive art experience for campers
