To coordinate this event, she oversaw many complex logistics, involving 14 different teams participating in as many as 5 activities at one time. While ensuring that all of this ran smoothly, she often facilitated workshops herself. The end result was a retreat about which our directors raved. In fact, one of our managers is convinced that it led her team to its highest performing week of school-based interventions yet. Raina also took charge of programs that had more of a personal impact on the trajectory of our individual leaders. She decided to oversee the delivery of City Year's leadership development, goal setting, and self-reflection program called the Idealist's Journey. Raina oversaw every detail of this program--from rolling it out to 175 volunteers at the beginning of the year, to leading a group of 30-second year volunteers in monthly facilitator meetings, to directly implementing these activities with one of our groups of 9 first-year volunteers. In addition, Raina adapted many of the workbook exercises to make them more accessible. City Year’s National Director of Leadership was so impressed by Raina’s work that he replaced one of his own activities in the workbook used nationally across more than two-dozen program sites with hers. Additionally, our site’s satisfaction rate with this leadership curriculum grew more than 12% with Raina’s oversight. These impressive successes can be directly attributable to Raina’s efforts. In short, Raina has the ability to lead programs with broad oversight and sweeping objectives and those on the small group level with equal ease. While we have not worked together for a few years, our check-ins have confirmed that her spirit of self-improvement and continual drive have not changed. I'm looking forward to hearing about her future successes and happily recommend her."
