Ghana

I founded Bisa, which means ask in the Ghanaian language twi.Bisa is a technology company focused on building mobile health and electronic health solutions to tackle problems in the delivery of healthcare in Africa. Bisa’s core project is the Bisa Health Application, it was launched in Ghana in 2016 and it is a telemedicine platform that gives the public access to doctors and health information using a mobile device. Using the data gathered on the Bisa platform, whilst adhering to doctor - patient confidentiality, health experts will be able to detect outbreaks of diseases at an early stage and decision makers can also implement the right policies to meet the healthcare needs of people and communities. The French version of the Bisa Health Application was launched in Senegal in collaboration with the country’s Ministry of Health in July, 2019.

Bisa Technologies, formerly known as (Oasis Websoft Ltd) was started in 2012 as a sole proprietorship and was incorporated in 2016 as Bisa Technologies Limited. Bisa Technologies is 10 years old and was founded out of the passion of its pioneer to provide cutting edge technology, accessible to all in the West African sub-region. The company believes in technology’s ability to provide tangible solutions to various sectors and industries across Africa and this is what drives the team at Bisa Technologies to develop software with real potential to transform and empower society and improve capacity and efficiency both in the government and private sector.

I did my professional development experience with IBM whiles in the United States of America for the President Obama Washington Mandela Fellowship. I worked with colleagues from IBM Center for Advanced Learning. I was introduced to Watson and also had hands on coding experience on working with IBM Bluemix platform. I came up with a project called Funza which will be deployed in early 2016. Funza is a short form of Kujifunza which means learn in Swahili. Funza is a mobile application that will provide text and audio information about entrepreneurship that aims to maximize the productivity and knowledge of the youth in both English and French. The categories of entrepreneurship resources we will be providing are agriculture , fashion , business and computing. Content will be sourced from credible interviews with stakeholders in the various fields , articles and academic journalsrelevant to Africans.

ThoughtWorks has now registered a subsidiary Company in Uganda, ThoughtWorks UgandaLimited (“ThoughtWorks Uganda”), whose objectives are to provide IT Software andConsultancy Services to various Multinational and Multilateral Organisations. He worked on two open source social impacting projects with recent agile software technology stacks and techniques. He also continues to coordinate Thoughtworks Accra activities from his residence in Accra, Ghana.
