I am an artistic person who has always been interested in the cosmetic industry. I currently work as a Beauty Advisor at Sephora Canada and also have a side business where I provide makeup services for special events such as weddings, parties, and other special events. I am currently studying Business Marketing at Fanshawe College to further my career within the cosmetics industry. Since I was a young age I have always been a creative person. As I have grown older, I have applied my creative skills to the transformation of people using cosmetics. I have found that I can use my creative influence to bring happiness to others by simply using my skills as a makeup artist. By transforming the looks of a person you can make them feel attractive, and more self-confident while giving them a memorable experience. In my role as a Beauty Advisor, my role is to educate clients on the application and role of different cosmetic products. A large number of the clientele I see have limited or basic knowledge of how to apply cosmetics and address certain skin problems. Most of my clientele come into the store with a concern. In most cases, the concern is finding the proper foundation tone match. Since I have artistic ability combined with a good knowledge of cosmetics, I am able to find the correct combination of undertones and skin type to properly give them to correct products. In the past number of years, I have had the privilege to work with Western University in terms of doing Makeup for their annual runway fashion shows. This event taught me how to work under pressure and how important organizational habits are. I have also volunteered my Makeup services at small business marketing events to promote my freelance work. In my high school years, I was a Spirit Leader for the Student Council in addition to, performing in a number of plays and performances. These experiences have helped me develop interpersonal skills as I have had to deal with a multitude of different personalities and strong collaborative skills.
