Over the summer of 2014, I had the privilege to intern at Norplas Industries for 11 weeks. Norplas is a division of Magna Exteriors. Norplas has been positioned in Northwood Ohio since 1998. During my 11 week internship I was cycled through the 5 molding departments and also through the APQP department. I stayed for 2 weeks in each department with an exception to the Process department located in Molding, here I only stayed a week. One of the requirements for this internship was to write a final report that encompassed, company infrastructure, Projects I worked on, and what I learned/did throughout the internship. -Cleaned and serviced secondary equipment, such as regrind machines, hoppers and material dryers. -Compounded additives and fillers into raw materials by weight.-Changed secondary equipment and cleaned machines during process/job change overs.-Set molds and set up machines for the desired process.-Trained employee to fill my job upon transfer to the processing department.
