Rainer Haas is a graduate of the Institute of Agricultural Economics at the Universität für Bodenkultur Wien (www.boku.ac.at). He made his doctorate about the first online farmers market of Austria, for which he got the Austrian Agricultural Marketing Award in 1998. He got several other awards such as the Austrian Agrana Research Award in 2001 and 2006, the Best Paper Award at the ISAHP 2001, in 2011 the Emerald Literati Network Awards, and the most innovative Idea Award 2016 at the International Conference on the Analytic Hierarchic Process.Habilitation (venia docendi) in Marketing in 2004. He was guest professor for teaching and research at the University of Florida, at the Department for Food and Resource Economics in the spring semesters of 2010, 2012, 2016 and 2018.He is reviewer for several journals and editor for the Bodenkultur and the Italian Economia Agro-Alimentare/Food Economy, an international Journal on Agricultural and Food Systems. Since 2007 he is member of the Scientific Advisory Board for the International European Forum on System Dynamics and Innovation.He teaches several courses at BOKU (see below), with a focus on intercultural experiences, see the international videoconference based Global Networking and the course on Intercultural Communication.
