At the Vienna University of Technology (VUT) I am leading different national and EU (FP7/H2020) funded projects. Within the industry areas plastic processing, machine tools, railways, electronics, automotive, building materials etc. my research projects focus mainly on the development and application of tools and methods for • Environmental Assessment e.g. development of simplified assessment method for machine tools using environmental KPIs, within the EU-7th Framework programme project: “LCA to go”, www.lca2go.eu,• Product and process innovation e.g. development of a business model providing waste heat of injection moulding machines as a service, • Sustainable Communication e.g. development of the first Sustainable Product Report Austria, Energy Efficiency Label for plastic processing machines, EPD for a light rail vehicle acc. to ISO 14025, • Sustainable Education e.g. development of teaching modules for Design for Sustainability (based on ISO 26000) and testing them at HTL Dornbirn in a currently running project.

The "ECODESIGN company" engineering & management consultancy GmbH provides high-level services in developing and marketing of eco-products. I am responsible for the conception and development of tools that integrate environmental aspects in the product development process of various companies. Recent tasks are:- Coordination and managing the adaptation of the ECODESIGN+ software e.g. for Zizala producing head lights for cars.- Developing the Ecodesign methodology within the FP7 project EcoMeTex - Ecodesign methodology for recyclable textile coverings used in the European construction and transport industry, funded by European Union 7th Framework Programme under grant agreement n° 280751, www.ecometex.eu - Organising the workshop: "Innovationschancen durch energieeffiziente Produkte", held last October 24th in Vienna. In this workshop the results of the current cooperation with the "International Energy Agency Implementing Agreement on Efficient Electrical End-Use Equipment" (IEA-4E) were presented and discussed with national experts.

In this role I work as an external expert undertaking evaluations, reviews & and writing consensus reports of international collaborative project proposals in the topic of Circular Economy, Rare resources, Energy Efficiency, Bioeconomy, Circular design, EU legislation, Energy Innovations, Business models and Financing.
