I develop new products for the laboratory industry from initial market research through production. The products include electro-mechanical devices such as centrifuges, mixers, etc. as well as storage devices. Products are developed in cooperation with outside design firms and factories and need to meet set time and budget constraints. Many of the more complex products are guided through agency approvals to achieve safety certifications. I also analyze field failures of existing products with the goal of incorporating improvements in both existing production as well as future designs.

As an application engineer for vibratory equipment (screens, feeders, sorting equipment); I developed machine costs and presented proposals to customers in the recycling, mining, and steel industries. I traveled throughout the U.S. and Canada to meet with customers and participate in equipment installations and/or retrofits. As a Project Manager, I ensured that equipment was built and delivered within schedule. I was also the point person for communication with our headquarters in Germany; speaking, reading, and writing in German as needed.

As a project manager I performed initial site evaluations and subsequently oversaw the installation of printing press cooling equipment at sites across the U.S. and Canada. I was responsible for ensuring that installations had the equipment, supplies, and personnel on site and that the installations were performed on schedule and within budget. I communicated with both customers in Germany and with our headquarters there. In the role of Quality Manager, I was responsible for maintaining the ISO 9001 status of the facility including developing and writing the procedures required to maintain this status.

As a Project Leader I was responsible for the development of products for the appliance and automotive industry. I traveled to customer sites in the US and to subcontractors in Asia. I was responsible in ensuring the success of products that would be a primary interface between end users and our customers' products. Our products often needed to be delivered within compressed time frames so that launch dates could be met.
