I built a unique business & marketing plan for this national Social Security disability practice, and recruited an investor with access to large scale, discounted media buys to fund the proposed business model. The investor agreed subject to my law firm demonstrating proof of concept over a six month testing period. Upon completion of a successful test, the investor agreed to fund the large scale business project, and to implement my proposed business and marketing plans. The company was formed and funded. At that junction, I gave one-half of my interest in the company to my then law partner who partnered with me in a separate law firm that did not participate in the proof of concept testing, as I believed him to be suited to run the new business, and I thought very highly of his business savvy. Shortly thereafter, I sold my remaining interest in the business to the investor, choosing instead to develop nonprofit businesses, which I believed to be more socially responsible and rewarding at that point in my career.
