This position started with 28-day deployment to St. Thomas, USVI for disaster relief efforts. Back in the City of Bellingham, our crew worked on a number of habitat restoration projects. For this position, I attended all labs, helped with set up and organization of lab materials, answered student questions, graded all lab assignments, and met weekly with the professor. In Fall 2016, I served as the Lab TA for GEOS 201: Geological Principles. In Spring 2017, I served as the Lab TA for GEOS 104: Meteorology

As a Physics Tutor for the PLU Academic Assistance Center (AAC), I held weekly drop-in labs in addition to holding one-on-one appointments for students. I conducted group test review sessions for several courses, served as a representative of the AAC at university functions, and participated in the hiring of new tutors in the Spring.

In May of 2016, I was granted a Sustainability Fellowship for the 2016-17 academic year by the PLU Sustainability Committee. For this project, I researched the carbon emissions attributed to meat and other protein products in PLU on-campus dining, as well as investigated how consumption patterns have changed in the past five academic years. By collecting purchase records from PLU Dining & Culinary Services, I compared these to other categories in the PLU 2013 STARS emissions report.
