The modern civilization has never been this much technically advanced with science becoming the world's new religion. We have collected enormous quantity of information on currents, tides, salinity and temprerature yet failed to understand the reason we need it. My involvement in marine science is rather subtle, I only observe small scale major trends in the Central Mediterranean. I hope the information oceanographers are collecting about the ocean will not be used against it.
