I am a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor's in Science in Psychology and a Creative Writing certificate. I am currently working as a Registered Behavior Technician and early autism intervention, and find it extremely rewarding.Mental health advocacy is very important to me: I have volunteered with the Trevor Project's Crisis Services team for over a year and consider the mental health of young LGBTQ+ people to be one of my most important areas of interest. Through my own mental health journey and learning about loved ones', eating disorder research and treatment, and learning or developmental disabilities such as ADHD and autism are also great interests to me. Related to my future career path, I plan on pursuing a Masters in Mental Health Counseling. I would love to continue research in the mental health field, and am currently gaining experience as a research assistant for Project SEED, a large-scale longitudinal project focused on the social development of Mexican children who language brokered for their parents. I am also passionate about community outreach and service: I have over 100 hours of direct community service working in the DFW metroplex and through my position as the service director of Always Texas. After completing my education, I hope to become a licensed therapist and dedicate my career to helping patients improve their mental health and work in research to identify best practices for my subjects of interest. I also have a strong interest in creative writing and storytelling. Writing has been a passion of mine for many years, leading me to complete a certificate in Creative Writing at UT. I also have extensive experience copy-editing both fiction and journalistic pieces written by myself and peers as a member of the UT chapter of Her Campus.
