About Raj Kumar Gope

My work revolves around generation of evidences and research into policy and practices for healthier society with a deep focus on rural under-served communities, including tribal population. I am humbled to have been a core team member of Team Ekjut in co-creating models in public health that have been recognized both globally (by the likes of UN, WHO, Lancet, etc. and nationally (NHM and multiple State Govts).I have over 18 years of rich and diverse experience in the development sector and an alumni of St. Xaiver's College, Ranchi; Xavier Institute of Social Services (XISS) and Indian Institute of Public Health. I am a DASRA - Harvard Business Publishing Social Impact Leadership Fellow (Cohort II) and am currently pursuing fellowship for Environment and Sustainability with LEAD India. During my 15 years with Ekjut, I have co-authored several papers which have been published in high impact international journals like Lancet, PLOS Medicine, BMC Public Health and have represented Ekjut’s work at international and national forums. As a core team member of State Resource Group, Jharkhand, under National Health Mission, I have ably led pilots for Community Based Monitoring of Health Services. Most recently, I am a member of the COVID-19 Response Secretariat under Ministry of Labour, Employment and Training, Government of Jharkhand.A master trainer on Appreciative Inquiry, I am a firm believer in the power of collaborations and team work and am constantly ‘Building Teams’ towards building healthier communities.
