Started career at Mukand in 1962 as a Rolling Mill Trainee Engineer. The first engineer and important core member of the Project Team for the ambitious Wire Rod Mill project at Kalwe. The right hand man of the then Chairman & MD, (Late) Viren J. Shah, my mentor who guided me throughout my stay at Mukand. Mr. Viren Shah's vision and the team work at Mukand led to the use of Continuously Cast billets being used for wire rods - first in the world. Even the great JRD was dumb-struck and the Tata Group introduced this concept AFTER the success at Mukand. Numerous path breaking accomplishments in the Wire Rod Mill and instrumental in establishing basic quality of wire rods from CC billets.Stay at Mukand was cut short in 1973 because of complications arising from an old 1970 accident and on doctor's advice. VERY valuable experience in Project Management, Wire Rod Mill operation and other aspects of rolling mill gained at Mukand and through training in mills throughout Europe and at Daido Steel & other plants in Japan
