I am highly motivated, energetic, and results-driven Civil Engineer with extensive experience in Pumped Storage and Hydro Sector, Superannuated on 31st August 2022 from the post of Executive Director (J&K Region) NHPC Ltd., CPSU. I led J&K Region of the corporation, overseeing the operations of five power stations ( 2130 MW ). I also held additional charge of the Ladakh Region ( two PS of 89 MW ) and the Banikhet Region, (five PS of 1389 MW ). I acted as a catalyst in the major decisions of these projects. I managed all regional activities, including liaising with state government bodies, corporate offices, MOP and other central government agencies.I served as Head of the Sawalkote H E Project (1856 MW ). I have over 38 years of experience in activities such as planning, estimating, finalizing contracts, execution, monitoring, costing, handling post-award cases, arbitration cases, claims, and coordination with local and state authorities in case of multidisciplinary projects. I commenced my career at NHPC in February 1985, contributing to major works in 540 MW Chamera 1 project, where I played a key role in the concreting of the main dam. Subsequently, I served at the 60 MW Rangit and the 280 MW Dhauliganga projects for a combined duration of nine years. Additionally, I worked on projects such as the 800 MW Parbati (approx. two years) and the 160 MW Teesta Low Dam (approx. 3.5 years). In J&K, I was the head of the 120 MW Sewa-II and 1856 MW Sawalkote HE project. I gained valuable experience working in the Corporate Contract and project’s contract Divisions . In this role, I formulated, processed, and finalized major civil works tenders ( Package wise as well as EPC ) through international competitive bidding (FIDIC as well as World Bank based conditions ) and domestic bidding. I successfully managed the entire process, from drafting of bid documents to contract award. .I handled post-award cases of major works under FIDIC-based contracts, requiring approvals at the Director/Chairman/Board . I also looked after the policy aspects in the corporate contract division and was involved in the formulation of the common bid conditions for all hydropower utilities under MOP.I take pride in my experience , constructing the first NHPC and the third of India’s fly ash-based Roller Compacted Concrete Dam (RCC Dam). I am eager to continue utilizing my wealth of experience, achievements, and expertise to new opportunities for the development of the nation.
