About Rajani Gudlavalleti

I love working to build healthier, safer and more joyful communities of care. This passion is what led me to harm reduction policy advocacy and community organizing. When I was a young higher ed student, women of color and queer women leading harm reduction organizations in Chicago and Baltimore saw potential in my compassion and drive to change policy. They also knew I needed to quietly make hundreds of safer sex kits while listening and learning from the experts surviving houselessness and the drug war. I am forever grateful for these teachers. Now, I have over 18 years experience across the diverse spectrum of the nonprofit sector: serving grassroots fiscally sponsored projects, operating a newly independent 501c3, coordinating philanthropic funds, conducting university-led research, evaluating government-run health services, and managing political advocacy efforts.
