Human resource professional with hands-on experience of around 20 years in HR processes encompassing the total employee life cycle, from talent acquisition, management, development, retention, as also strategic involvement with the business. Believe in the strong linkages between human resource development and organisational profitability.During my career, I have alternated between functional and operational roles. Started career with a manufacturing organization, and during the 10 years tenure I learnt all operational aspects of the HR function whilst handling various portfolios – the last one as leading HR for a business unit.Thereafter, shifted to the media industry to specifically handle the HR role for the Sales on all-India basis with a span of nearly 1700 employees. Then moved to the telecom industry to take up a functional role in the Talent Engagement and Development role, again on a pan-India basis for over 1600 employees.Joined Alstom in June 2009 to lead the Human Resource function as "Director Human Resource, India" for the Transport Sector. As part of the Leadership team of the country, my role was both strategic and operational. I have contributed to the organic growth of the business in India during my stint.In July 2014, took a profile change from Operational to Functional role to lead the Learning organization for Alstom in India. The India learning campus supports all the Sectors/ Businesses in India right from the stage of Training Needs Analysis, to planning and releasing an India-wide Training Calendar, and deployment of programs on-site. Also championing the cause of promoting the development of Internal Trainers for Alstom Learning Offers, and member of the team for improving Gender Diversity in Alstom.I believe that my value, energy and humour come from the combination of being both business-oriented and human-oriented.
