As an engineering coordinator, I provide support in maturing tooling for high-pressure die casting process (HPDC) and low-pressure die casting process (LPDC). I work alongside our purchasing, die assembly, and quality group to insure that the end product meets highest level of quality and is within tolerance. During the maturation of the new tool (HPDC & LPDC), I have various responsibilities:• Evaluate and ship tool to manufacturing site.• Ensure the tool fit in the casting machine. • Create a baseline cooling map for casting trial.• During casting trial, perform thermal imaging of the tool. • Analyze thermal image and make recommendation for cooling condition. • Analyze CMM data for casting and make adjustments to the tool based on data.• Create work order to make modification to tooling based on data analysis.• Perform destructive testing to ensure casting meets the specification.
