- Worked as part of Enterprise Storage team managing physical storage infrastructure and providing storage resourced to internal teams- Worked on an ongoing project to create an automated service for a monitoring dashboard to display meta information about the storage clusters.- Remote execution across networks to reduce latency: The service is required to be run in a production network while the storage clusters are in a different network. The service gathering the meta information on storage volumes of the cluster is a long-running task which must run as close to the storage cluster as possible to reduce latency. Therefore remotely executing it from one production network to a server in the same network as the storage clusters improves the latency by 100x to 1000x- Multi-threaded execution with thread-safe custom data structures - In order to allow parallel running of the service on independent storage clusters, multi-threaded execution was used. It is the first time that I used a custom built doubly linked list data structure in a professional setting to store custom built objects storing information about all the tasks running in parallel. It was ensured that the shared data structured is thread-safe with appropriate synchronization mechanism to avoid race conditions and deadlocks.- A different approach to version control - Coming from the Git background I was able to learn a new single repo no branches model while working at Meta.- API focus - Every tool that was used in the project was an internally developed tool with strong documentation and API availability which improved the learning speed, proof-of-concept setup and its eventual use.

- I worked as a TA for the Operating Systems course. - My primary work responsibilities included conducting lab/office hours to help students with course projects, conducting discussion sessions and grading homeworks and exams. - I approached this role with three broad objectives. 1. To share the knowledge gained during my learning phase of taking the operating systems courses at both undergraduate and graduate level. I was able to share many insights and think of novel ways to explain a concept so that it is relatable, visualizable and has long term recall value. 2. I learnt a lot from my students, especially about how to efficiently distribute time in the fast paced quarter system and also about my teaching methodology. I was initially not convinced of my performance as TA but by learning from the responses of students as well as analyzing my own performance, I was able to build confidence in my own ability and I could feel improvement within a few weeks. 3. To enjoy the teaching process. It was a joy to see that students understood my explanations and were frequently attending my doubt sessions while working on their projects. - There has been significant progress in the three broad objectives that I started with and I hope to continue with that progress in the subsequent quarters to improve myself to become a better TA.
