The consortium led by Action Aid comprises Oxfam India, Plan India, ADRA India and Christian Aid for ECHO supported Phailin Response Project in Odisha.•Supervised and managed the key programing interventions of more than 300 interim shelters, in terms of contract management, procurement, design and development. •Coordination between consortium partners on a day-to day- basis. Program monitoring and evaluation of the project that span with Food security and livelihood, Water and Sanitation, Interim Shelter, Cash for Work, advocacy on child rights and women empowerment.•Management and recruitment of project management staff, consultants, developing TOR for specific task assigned, baseline, end line and other project related studies.•Advocacy with government and non-government actors, donor reporting, direct liasoning with European commission, coordination with international counterpart of all the consortium agencies, submission of interim and final report

More than 20 thousand families were provided immediate relief into different camps set up by the government, 25 medical camps, gender space creation, and water and sanitation issues.•Care India- Vodafone Rehabilitation project Gayghat and Bandra block of Muzaffarpur Bihar against the back-drop of 2007 flood. The key intervention of project was to provide a shelter and livelihood support to more than 300 household families in flood affected area.•Sustainable Nutrition Health and Livelihood (SNEHAL)-Flood Response Project) aided by USDA (United States Dept. of Agriculture, Flood Disaster Risk Management (FDRM) in Bihar, India. SNEHAL was initiated in Bihar against the backdrop of Bihar flood of 2007 that to address the multiple of issues affected the community during floods.•Technical Support Care India DIPECHO Tsunami Response Program in Andman and Nicobar region •RCH (Reproductive Child and health) project of Lucile Packard Foundation -The project aims to address the issue of health and disaster during floods at Bandra and Gaighat block of district of Muzaffarpur Bihar from May 2008 to 31st May 2009.

•On behalf of UNDP and Government of India, responded to Bihar flood of 2006 at Begusarai and Khagaria district. •Development of Community Based Disaster Management plan in than 1000 villages, 18 sub-districts and three subdivisions was covered under the Disaster Management plan (DPM). Supported training and capacity building activities of different team of Disaster Management (RESPONSE, and RECOVERY)•Assisted and facilitated the program of School Safety in selected schools of Patna Bihar under Urban Disaster Management plan•Facilitated emergency management plan for of Safe Hospitals and initiated effort for amendment in building by-laws. Piloted a strong advocacy campaign on Disaster Management at Begusarai that got replicated by number of districts of Bihar.
