Dr. Rajeev Raghavan is a medical doctor who trained at the Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) and now works for HCA healthcare as the program director for the internal medicine residency program based in Kingwood, Texas. He is a board certified Internist and Nephrologist (kidney specialist). He is a leading authority on the care of undocumented immigrants, and in particular, those with chronic diseases such as End Stage Kidney Disease. His research and publications have garnered nationwide interest in this topic, which is at the crossroads of two major national agendas: immigration and health care reform. He has published extensively on this subject matter, including in the New England Journal of Medicine. Dr. Raghavan is also a content expert on glomerulonephritis and drug-induced interstitial nephritis, and is section editor for Clinical nephrology. As a current faculty at both BCM and the University of Houston Fertitta Family COM, Dr. Raghavan is passionate about improving and innovating medical education. He completed his Masters of Education (M.Ed) in 2021. He has directed undergraduate courses for over 10 years and spearheaded curricular initiatives. Dr. Raghavan was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha by the BCM 2019 graduating medical school class. His efforts have garnered multiple awards for teaching and patient care. He has been invited to many national education committees, including at the ACGME.
