Kerala State IT Mission is the nodal agency for Government of Kerala for all IT initiatives. As the Head Technology, I was responsible for,1. Kerala State Data Centre that hosts government applications from various Govt departments. Upgraded the Server, Storage and Networking Infrastructure and tightened the rules to make the system more robust and secure.2. Computer Emergency Response Team - taking care of application security, vulnerability assessment, Information security. I am the State CISO (Chief Information Security Officer).3. SW development team - Responsible for development and state wide deployment of SW applications like Kerala Puraskaram, RoW, Unified Registry, Asset Management etc.4. Unified Registry and Digital Kerala Architecture - Creation of a central data profile and repository for giving seamless one login, one profile one portal access for Kerala citizens.5. Formulation of policies - Telecom policy, procurement policy, IT policy etc6. Kerala State Wide Area Network - KSWAN is envisioned to connect ALL government offices and State Data Centre.7. Kerala WiFi - More than 2000 hotspots that provide free WiFi to citizens.8. Deploying eOffice across all Government offices9. Procurement as per Government policies (~200 Cr INR per year)10. Kerala Spatial Data Infrastructure - Common repository for all geospatial data across departments.11. Managing (work allocation, tracking and appraisals) close to 200 member team spread across 14 districts12. Technical committee member for all departments.

I was responsible for expanding business into newer areas like AR/VR, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence in addition to the routine job of managing the 120+ team working on various video domain projects spread across USA and Europe.Was succesful in reducing the attrition while moving the team from Cisco to Cognizant.

Managing the Professional Services India team catering to North American and European customers (Cox, Comcast ,DirecTV, Rogers etc). Team of 150 members spread across geographies were providing the development/maintenance/L2/consultancy services in the digital TV area.Ramped a team of 45 members for the Comcast project in 3 months time and made 50+ deliverables on time on quality following agile methodology in the next 3 years. Developed and deployed the most advanced UI (with many bleeding edge features) for the US customers.Reduced employee attrition level to almost zero.

Key higlights are,1. As the Digital TV Program manager, I managed a team of 60 engineers to deliver the world class UI experience on Bravia TVs. UI became a big selling point in the markets world over.2. Relocating the SONY office to a new location in India taking care of all Governmental regulations, licensing etc and in safe relocation. Was also involved with various Government agencies in getting approvals for testing in newer frequencies in India.3. One of the core team members to select an appropriate Indian vendor for outsourcing the MHP software development. Evaluated 6 companies and selected one. Went on to make the agreement, terms and conditions and also directed and tracked the progress for one year.4. Setup an ODC for SONY in India. This grew to a team strength of 1000 members. Was responsible for the proper functioning of the ODC.5. Played a key role in the implementation of CMMI activities

Joined Wipro as a hardware engineer designing PCBs and moved on to device drivers and then to middleware development before becoming an architect for various software applications. Some of the key successes include,1. Designed & developed MHEG-5 Interactive TV Stack and BLU-Ray Player Stack2. Developed device drivers for Alcatel's ASAM and FTTH boards.3. Enhanced the memory & data structures to increase the number of virtual routers & IP connections by 10 times in their IGMP stack.4. Successfully developed the Proprietary Algorithm for ATM Traffic Shaping5. Won awards from Alcatel management for proactively solving various issues.
