Alokin Software is a boutique software development and consultancy firm specialising in digital solutions in Marketing, UI/UX, Natural Language Processing/AI, Enterprise Software and R&D.Alokin Software started operations in 2011 within the prestigious Technopark Technology Business Incubator, Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram, based on product development for Indian language technology, particularly the first Operating System for Malayalam Language. From 2015, we began providing technology R&D for the Self-Storage industry in the United States. We are operating as a technology development center for a US tech company in the Self-Storage industry. We are continuing to innovate by conducting R&D as well as creating turnkey solutions for Self-Storage industry.

A Foundation for Language Studies, Language Computing and Linguistic Research

A team spearheading a movement for taking Malayalam back to its logical and consistent foundations. We worked on Malayalam script, grammar and linguistics. We applied our research to the foundations of Malayalam computing, and built fundamental technologies that underpin Malayalam implementations on operating systems and software available in the market today. In this non-profit organization, we also built Rachana Malayalam Operating System, an open source operating system, adopted by various organizations in the state of Kerala. Finally, we played a major role in defining and participating in the development of Unicode/ISO standards for Malayalam encoding.

Commercial establishment providing Software Development and Consulting services. Morphed into Alokin Software in 2011. Built Samagra Knowledge (a Semantic Web application), Grantha LMS, One-Rank-One-Pension software, ioLite Operating System, Akilibooks eBook system, AOL Music database, and a variety of other software systems.

Startup developing various embedded systems products like security devices, home/office automation, communications, EDA etc. Built IoT systems before IoT became a buzzword. Extensively worked on the Microchip PIC platform, with E&C engineers to successfully realise several products using GSM, GPS, production support tools, etc. Our products were ahead of its time in Kerala, and the world, and eventually we shut down.

Completed several projects and sold them. Mostly in Java. Also taught as a part-time faculty member at a vocational training school
