We obtained our building permits the day the World Health Organization declared a global pandemic. When California's Governor, Gavin Newsome, held a press conference a couple of weeks later indicating the need to shelter in place/quarantine and cited the benchmarks for a "return to normal" we knew our vision was not to be. Our business model relies heavily on groups and a high degree of personal connection and customer attention; a high volume counter venue was not in our plans or design.

www.collegeheights.usCollege Heights in an amazing spiritual community. Although it is Christian, there is an embrace of multiple traditions and skepticism. The embrace is so genuine that the membership of this church includes all kinds of spiritual/religions/non-religious identities. We often say: "College Heights is racially committed to your spiritual journey without requiring agreement or expecting conformity."If you are in need of a safe place to test out ideas or just need a place that offers great hugs and warm acceptance...stop by on a Sunday morning at 10 AM and check us out. In addition to my part-time work at College Heights I will continue as the Executive Director at HOME & HOPE. Upon arrival Home & Hope's Interfaith Sheltering Program involved 28 congregations with over 1,200 active volunteers and now involves 34 congregations with over 1,400 active volunteers. Key areas of responsibilities include volunteer coordination and trainings, grant-writing, staff development and supervision, guest relations and case management, collaborative partner recruitment, program development and oversight, board development and management analysis.2013 was projected to be a difficult financial year for the organization.
