Used Handbook of Steel Construction & CSA-S16 to design beam, column, and Concentrically Braced Frame• For Timber Building: Utilized Wood Design Manual & CSA-086 to design slab, beam, column, and shear wall. CLT was used for slab and shear wall while Glulam was used for beam and column• Utilization factor was taken into consideration to maintain uniformity in comparing the 3 structuresLife Cycle Assessment (LCA) Phase:• Calculated volume and weight of the structural elements accordingly that were obtained at the design phase• Life Cycle Assessment was done over a period of 50 years considering LCA measures such as Global Warming Potential (GWP), Fossil Fuel Depletion, Stratospheric Ozone Depletion, etc. at different life cycle stages using Athena Impact Estimator for Building to determine the most sustainable building material
