In the recent years, Payment Technology in India has leapfrogged with lot of innovation and new products. This has created huge opportunities to use these leanings in similar growing markets like Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bangladesh etc. Innoviti has created Payment Technology Platforms like uniPAY NEXT & smelending.com with unique proposition which have also matured over a period of time and they appears to be the right fit in some of these countries. Incidentally, some of these marketplace faces similar challenges like ours - not satisfactory network infrastructure, retail credit take-off not enough and therefore need tested and mature solutions offered by Innoviti. Innoviti has also pioneered, besides retail credit, solutions like EMI, Cashback, integrated PoS with merchant billing system and I believe that introduction of such a plaform in some of these markets would reduce cost, increase efficiency and create genuine retail growth. Through smelefding.com platform, Innoviti is essentially looking at enabling retail SME segment to keep control over dealer trade credit. The lending platform along with payment platform uniPAY NEXT creates a perfect “Sell” & “Buy” cycle for retailers. I am exited at the opportunity and the challenge of doing a greenfield project, very similar to doing the greenfield project of enablement of RuPay acceptance over entire PoS network in India.

The NPCI stint of more than 7 years has been more than satisfying and enriching for me. Some of my key responsibilities during this period:1. Enablement of RuPay acceptance on the entire PoS network in the country. Was made possible through working with all acquiring banks and eco-system entities. 2. Acceptance enablement for Discover, Diners, JCB and Union Pay International cards on PoS network in India. 3. Implementation and growth of RuPay eCommerce4. Headed RuPay Product. 5. Headed National Financial System products. 7. Headed Aadhaar Enabled Payment Systems (AEPS), eKYC, EMV (Contact & Contactless) during 2014-158. From NPCI side, been responsible for standardisation and implementation of Bharat QR. Achieved by working with Visa, MasterCard, Regulator, IBA as well as Governement.

Notable activities & achievements:• Managed the project for procurement of EFT Switch & related systems including ACH system for NPCI through RFP during 2010-11. As part of this, I travelled many countries including Russia & South Africa for the evaluation purpose. • Procured the Fraud Prevention solution for NPCI. • Led the project team for building the RuPay scheme specification. The RuPay was finally launched in March 2012. • Have been part of the identification and evaluation of the eCommerce solution to be implemented as part of the RuPay scheme.

• Responsible for Cash Management Services (CMS -Collection & Payments) and all payment systems of the Bank including SWIFT, RTGS, NEFT, SFMS, Clearing & Cheque Truncation System (CTS).• Completed the project responsibility of migrating the legacy, COBOL based CMS Collection system to Oracle / Java based collection systems in Oct 2009. The CMS Collection system in ICICI Bank is used by 700 branches, approximately 2000 users, 0.20 million daily transactions, more than 400 crore of daily credits and generation of more than 7000 MIS daily.• Managed Corporate Centre Technologies supporting multiple functions including HR, Facilities Management & Admin and Legal & Finance.• Implementation of PeopleSoft for ICICI HR; Online financial approval system; Complete travel management solution; management of SAS and Interwoven for ICICI Group etc.• Headed the technology team managing both inbound and outbound call centres of the Bank from FY05 through FY07.• Developed IVR authentication through debit / credit card and PIN, a first of its kind awarded by Asian Banker. The IVR system interfaced with Base24 switch for authentication.

• Managed ICICI Bank’s ATM, POS & Debit Card infrastructure during the high growth phase from Dec 2000 till end 2005.• Responsible for deployment of ICICI Bank’s first Debit Card Management System (DCMS).• Implemented the first online DR replication system for ICICI Bank (also, possibly one of the first in the financial sector in India) for Base24 system with successful fail-over in December, 2001.• Enabled multiple features on ATM Network – Voice, Mobile Top-up; Cross-Sell etc• Smart Card acquiring for the first time in India with Visa and MasterCard; Certification of all PoS terminal then. • First large Bank to connect directly to National Financial System (NFS) of IDRBT in 2004.• Extending Base24 system for ATM driving and Interface with Fiserv in UK. • Driving of ATM in Bahrain from Base24 system in India.

• Joined Canara Bank as Probationary Officer in October 1988. Probation period spanning various branches; foreign department etc. • Worked as an Officer at the Vikasnagar Branch, Dehradun District and responsible for various branch operations including agricultural and other loans. • Joined the technology department of Canara Bank in 1992 and worked for 2 years in EDP section, responsible for various processing including salary, computerisation of various offices. • As a responsibility in Branch Computerisation Section of Canara Bank, Circle Office, Mumbai from 1994 to 1998, implemented standalone packages, Integrated Total Branch Automation solution like IBBS and also Finnacle (solution by Infosys which was originally designed for Canara Bank) in various branches.• Moved in 1998 to another Circle Office in Mumbai as Manager in-charge for automation of branches and regional office computerization for Maharashtra (except Mumbai) and Gujarat.
