Oracle delivers an IaaS, PaaS and SaaS cloud offering. Over the years, as the offering has matured, customers have migrated various parts of their software portfolio to the cloud. In my role as Principal Cloud Solution architect, I focused on enabling customers in their efforts to migrate as well as create new applications in the Ora-cle cloud. By focusing on enablement, I helped drive recurring revenue to Oracle by means of cloud consumption. I have traveled globally to provide education, support POC’s and enable sales activities.Representative tasks of how I added value to customers:• To reduce the friction of deploying machine learning solutions into the Oracle Cloud, I created an automation to deploy a Machine Learning Virtual Machine (ML VM) along with necessary security, network, backup, and Jupyter Lab con-figurations.• To enable the use of NLP use cases in the Oracle cloud, I created automation to deploy 3 NLP libraries (spacy, Spark NLP, and Hugging Faces).• I implemented a reinforcement learning solution for warehouse inventory management. The solution showcased the power of GPU’s and parallelism during training (parameter and hyperparameter) using Population Based Training for hyperparameter.• I provided education and architectural guidance to Oracle customers in the areas of security, identity, and networking to reduce the time it took to move the applications to the cloud.• I prototyped installing and configuring large monolithic systems in the Oracle cloud using Chef and Terraform. Using this prototype, I helped guide the migration of internal Oracle applications to the cloud (such as EBS, a large ERP system).• To provide concrete examples for external Oracle customers, I create and published an Oracle Solution for multi-tenant. This is a self-paced solution providing information around best practices for identity, security, and networking.

Gloo delivers software for behavior change through content generation, personalized content delivery and habit formation techniques. The Gloo platform is built using PostgreSQL, Rail and Redis. The platform is hosted in Rackspace / AWS and de-livered via web and mobile clients.My responsibilities included:♦ Defined database architecture supporting failover, replication, backups, disaster re-covery, SLA and encryption for PostgreSQL deployed in AWS. ♦ Architected and implemented a hierarchical tree structure using stored procedures and ‘ltree’ extension in PostgreSQL.♦ Researched, architected and automated solution creating ‘disposable’ servers in AWS using the AWS API for Rails and Cloud Formation. The final solution gen-erated VPC, subnets (private and public), bastion host, and 4 solution servers.♦ Defined network and server architecture to integrate Tableau as an embedded reporting server in AWS.♦ Defined architecture to extract data from PostgreSQL, evaluate data using R, and display results in Tableau.♦ Maintained and added features to Ruby on Rails based API and content management system♦ Scrum master for platform team delivering Rails software hosted in AWS and Rackspace.♦ Mentor developers and focused on process improvements to increase developer productivity.

SAP delivers enterprise level software for medium and large sized businesses. The company is primarily focused on ERP delivered using a SOA approach.Release Manager♦ Release management for the Replication Agent project. Responsibilities included coordination between development, QA, documentation, release management, and program management teams.Manager.♦ Managed a geographically distributed team in Europe / US to facilitate the integra-tion of acquired ETL software products. I guided the integration of the technical and QA teams from an acquisition into the Sybase culture.Architect♦ Conceived, architected and delivered web services integration with Sybase’s flag-ship database product, ASE.♦ Technical leadership for a team of 4 developers to integrate message queues via SQL in the ASE database.Senior Developer♦ Communicated technical and roadmap vision on ASE and web services to custom-ers at TechWave.♦ Enhanced interoperability layer to query and update data in Oracle, DB2, Mi-crosoft SQL Server and ASE using C and native database connectivity as well as ODBC.♦ Senior developer for replication management user interface. Designed and deliv-ered key API interfaces between teams as well as implementing a topology view in the user interface using Java and Flex.

Worked on AMASS NT, a system that created a file system on Windows NT and 2000 with tape drives as a backing store.My responsibilities included:♦ Designed and implemented the creation of SNMP agent to drive a dashboard display for the AMASS system.♦ Created a kernel level driver for Windows NT and 2000 to send data to SCSI DLT drives at rated speeds.

Created the e-print suite of products that implements the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP). IPP is a protocol that is layered on top of HTTP 1.1. The e-print suite of software is implemented in Java and uses XML as its main data file configuration format.My responsibilities include:♦ Managed and developed relationships with customers. ♦ Created press kits for software launch.♦ Create and manage task list for software delivery♦ Defined marketing strategy for the e-print software.♦ Traveled and demonstrated product at trade shows.♦ Participate in standards process initiated at the W3C and eventually completed by the Printer Working Group.♦ Design and development of Java classes to encode and decode IPP using HTTP 1.1.TRCS also provided consulting focused at implementing custom e-commerce solutions for customers. Customers included Global One, Alcatel, and Xerox. For Xerox the Virtual Printroom (XVP) provides customers the ability to scan, store, and print large format documents in a distributed environment.My responsibilities included:♦ Design and implementation of a multi-threaded print spooling server using DCOM, DAO, ATL, and MFC written in C++ on Windows NT. ♦ Design and implementation of a concurrent server written in C++ on Solaris. ♦ Design and implementation of a Java client to interact with the XVP server using sockets. ♦ Design and layout of web pages, using HTML, JavaScript, and Perl to provide Intranet access to XVP. ♦ Design and implementation of low bandwidth viewing of MMR raster images in Netscape and Internet Explorer. ♦ Created migration paths for XVP customer's transitioning from Oracle 6 to Oracle 7. Alcatel Data Networks: Design and implementation of a network switch that handles frame relay and ATM traffic using medium and high-speed couplers.

I worked on the Global Situation Analysis and Mapping Systems (GSAMS). The software displays positional data retrieved from an Oracle database and displays the data graphically on a variety of map data.My responsibilities included:♦ Integrated the Common Mapping System (CMS) with existing DSX maps to provide a seamless user interface. ♦ Added the ability to read and write graphics data in CGM format. ♦ Converted the interface to Motif from a proprietary look and feel. ♦ Integrated the display of data from an external data source. ♦ Added the ability to update graphical positional data automatically when the Oracle database is updated using triggers. One of four programmers working on Decision Support for X (DSX). DSX is a toolkit that provides mapping, database access, and 2-d graphics. The system is based on Unix, X-Windows, and Oracle. The mapping supports WDBII and WVS data.My responsibilities included:♦ Conversion of look and feel to Motif from a proprietary interface. ♦ Design and implementation of X window mirroring for UNIX and VMS working at the X protocol layer. ♦ Added the ability to have scrollbars on map and data windows. ♦ Design and implementation of an interactive GUI builder for the DSX toolkit.

I led a group of three programmers in one of the three major areas of the Automated Charting System (ANCSII) project. This project developed a GIS system to automate the creation of charts for NOAA. I headed the Chart Graphics Database (CGDB), which extracted data from a seamless, scale less database to produce charts at a given map scale.My responsibilities included:♦ Participated in the overall design and architecture of ANCSII. ♦ Correlated contract requirements to system design for CGDB. ♦ Wrote the high level design for the CGDB. ♦ Developed the user interface manual for the CGDB. ♦ Coordinated training and testing with appropriate groups. ♦ Allocated and coordinated programming assignments for my team.

I participated in a team of 21 programmers that designed and programmed core software for Intergraph's solution for CAD/CAM. The software was written in a proprietary object oriented language on the UNIX based Clipper platform.My responsibilities included:♦ Single element location of graphics. ♦ Location of multiple graphics elements. ♦ Design and implementation of the message subsystem. ♦ Participation in the design of the display subsystem.
