Rajesh Relan has 35 years of experience in financial services and last 25 years in Insurance Industry, holding leadership positions in India and Asia Pacific region. He has been the Managing Director of PNB MetLife India Insurance and in earlier stints was employed with AVIVA and Old Mutual Plc. During his professional career in various roles such as Managing Director, Independent & Non-Executive Director, BA Lead in Asia and India, he has gained significant experience in varied streams. He serves as an Independent Director on the Board of listed companies such as Singer India Ltd. (Consumer Durables) and Jaykay Enterprises Ltd. (Defence). He serves as an additional Director on the Boards of a diverse set of non-listed companies such as Foundation of Delhi University (Education), Cars Alley (End-of-Life Vehicles) and Ecomoney Insurance. He has been on the Boards of Aakash Education (Edtech) and Artivatic.ai (Technology), in the past. He also currently serves as an Honorary member on the advisory boards of IILM University and Hindu College, University of Delhi.Rajesh also worked for a couple of years with Sabre Partners, a Private Equity firm as an Operating Partner. He has a proven track record of creating value, launching & building new businesses, driving growth, turnarounds & transformations and has an in-depth understanding of strategy, financial planning, regulation, Governance, Indian & International compliances, corporate affairs, shareholder management, M&A’s and Strategic Alliances.In his previous stints, he has been a member of various committees of Industry bodies such as the CII, FICCI, Amcham, USIBC and others. He has also been a part of various Govt. & Regulatory Committees over the last many years. Rajesh completed his Masters of Management Studies from NMIMS, University of Mumbai and is an alumnus of KM College, University of Delhi. As part of his professional development, he was nominated by his erstwhile organizations to attend various programs at INSEAD, France (Young Managers program), London Business School (Senior Leadership development), Wharton Business School (Leadership Development) and Harvard Business School (Strategy). He was conferred ‘Distinguished Alumni Award’ by NMIMS in 2015.
