I specialized in providing clients with advice on wide-scale municipal engagements in Canada and the USA, including civic and community engagement, community-basedplanning and economic development, strategic and business planning, customer experience and service design, and organizational and operational improvement. Clients included: large and medium-sized local and municipal governments in the U.S. and Canada, a professional services firm, a Toronto-based food bank, and a Toronto-based urban housing provider.

The Strategy and Innovation Branch combines business experience, user research, and a design-thinking approach to support the policy community and government’s decision-making. The Branch sits at the unique intersection of the political and bureaucratic worlds, and uses a multidisciplinary teams approach to deliver high-impact transformation and change management initiatives within Cabinet Office, including the build of the new ONTrack digital information management system. • Leading the design of an internal change management strategy that champions user-centric and digital-first design principles, enhances the government’s capacity to adopt new ways of working, and strengthens the ability of the public service to deliver on the policy agenda• Co-leading the development, build, and implementation of ONTrack - a landmark digital product that enables data-driven decision-making across the Ontario Public Service - through scoping, mapping, evaluating, and planning the system build to meet user needs.• Act as a change agent by building relationships with internal and external leaders to improve risk identification and management approaches across the enterprise to address policy challenges and deliver results.

The Policy Innovation Hub - recently shortlisted as one of Apolitical's 100 teams teaching government the skills of the future - is an in-house consulting team that partners with ministries to deliver on government priorities by providing hands-on support, training, and flexible resources. The Hub combines traditional and innovative consulting into practice areas and services focused on public sector innovation: strategy and strategic foresight, systemic design, and service design.• Led project teams comprised of ministry staff and service providers, overseeing all areas of project management, monitoring progress against targets, and assessing risk and issues throughout project lifecycles• Lead Project Journalist for the Hub - led the research, writing, and delivery of the Hub's case study series "The Innovation Files." Includes collaborating across government departments to researched draft, and design case studies that showcase and amplify innovative work across the Ontario Public Service. • Provided strategic support to ministries to solve problems and work in new ways, including using service design and systems design methodologies to better address citizen needs and map interactions between stakeholders and systems• Graphic design lead responsible for overall Hub marketing and branding. Beyond the Headlines (BTH) is a one-hour current affairs talk radio show aimed at providing a greater understanding and thoughtful discussion of the various policy issues in our daily news headlines. BTH aims to take listeners beyond the immediacy of our daily news. • Recruited, trained, and managed a team of 25 student producers in the production of weekly radio shows/podcasts• Redeveloped BTH’s communications strategy to engage a larger audience across major social media platforms, recently resulting in a 207% increase in online engagement on Twitter and 86% on Facebook; managed BTH’s communications, including website (Wordpress, HTML), general inbox and show promotional roll-outs• Episodes as executive producer, host, or technical producer include The Shared Economy II, Free Movement in the EU, Does the Prime Minister Really Matter, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, and more. The Mowat Centre for Policy Innovation is an independent public policy think tank located at the School of Public Policy & Governance at the University of Toronto and Ontario’s non-partisan, evidence-based voice on public policy. • Co-authored a research paper, "Unpacking Impact" on impact measurement for social enterprises that summarized findings from the public forum and provided government recommendations.• Event managed, hosted and facilitated a public forum on impact measurement that was used to launch Ontario’s social enterprise strategy. Analyzed and distilled insights and user feedback from this forum for use in the Unpacking Impact research paper• Executed meaningful stakeholder consultations with senior government officials from the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade (MEDJCT), federal government representatives, global impact measurement experts, and staff in local social enterprises (i.e. Furniture Bank, Fresh City Farms, etc.)

Representing over 17, 000 graduate students across 85 departments, the UTGSU is one of the cornerstones for student advocacy at the University of Toronto. As an active contributor to student life at one of Canada’s leading institutions, the UTGSU have been the driving force behind essential reforms and have contributed to enhancing the university’s community-based experiences since the 1970s. As Chief Returning Officer, I was responsible for: • Project managing the 2016 UTGSU Election which involved overseeing a budget of $15,000, responding to stakeholder inquiries regarding election policies, and remaining accountable to the GSU’s 17,000 members • Successfully co-ordinating elections to ensure the democratic process was maintained in a fair, accessible, and transparent manner • Identifying opportunities for improvement, optimizing an election strategy and online voting system, and implementing various strategic initiatives in collaboration with various university administrative stakeholders to increase voter turnout, resulting in a 14% increase in voter turnout from the previous year
