About Dr. Raj Gnanaiah

I am a Chartered Consultant Psychologist registered with the UK's Health and Care Professions Council; and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS); a Practice Supervisor on the Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (BPS registered); a qualified test user on the Register of Qualifications in Test Use in the Occupational and Forensic setting (RQTU) BPS level A & B. I believe in positive psychology as a counterbalance to negatively stigmatised psychological conditions within the medical model. Positive psychology provides an opportunity for personal and organisational development, rather than just seen as an intervention for a range of problems. I have illustrated this in my work with clients in the NHS, law enforcement setting, charity and the private sector. My supervisory skills are underpinned by these principles. I have used psychology successfully as a clinician, manager and as the head of services to bring about meaningful change to professional mindsets, organisations’ attitudes and perceptions. I gain genuine satisfaction from helping services to optimise their clinical gains. Knowing that I have supported not only the organisation, but also the people they help, is what keeps me striving forward. I bring my 20 years experience in helping people and my clinical research skills, to make change happen.
