Rajgopal is Controller for North America Retail and Commercial Deposit portfolio. He is responsible for oversight over monthly, quarterly integrated close process, financial, and management reporting, including corporate and regulatory reporting. Rajgopal is subject matter expert in Genesis and NEXTGEN his other responsibilities includes overseeing the automation of segmentation process leveraging the Accounting Engine, MCA over deposit QMEMO, and records management. Prior to Citibank, Rajgopal was with Bank of America. As a member of Financial Systems Road map project, he lead the conversion of legacy fixed asset system to SAP. After conversion, he lead the AP disbursement cleanup project. He and his team researched different type of exceptions that occured in AP system, cleared over 600,000 reconciling items with value in excess of 50 billion dollars.Prior to Bank of America, Rajgopal was with American Express Bank. As product manager for insurance, Rajgopal was responsible for designing life and non-life insurance products. The first non-life direct marketing campaign resulted in over 15% response rate! He was also instrumental in developing the Financial Health Check program an industry first, geared towards soliciting life insurance customers through face to face sale via financial consultants. As Manager of liabilites product, Rajgopal oversaw the conversion of American Express corporate time deposit to Unitized Time Deposit (UTD) system. An industry first, the newly designed retail platform allowed customers to withdraw balances from their time deposits in incremental units as and when required thereby avoiding the early withdrawal penalty on entire time deposit. The UTD system capability also included ability to sweep excess balance from customers checking and savings accounts above a defined threshold allowing customers to earn a higher interest rate offered by time deposits.
