I obtained my degree in Marketing and Management from Curtin University of Technology in 2008. A year later, I left for Perth, Australia to pursue my Masters in Arts (Journalism) also from Curtin University. Upon completing my Masters, I did a short stint as a reporter/journalist at the Sun managing to get five stories published, before going on to work as a business analyst for Theta SP. My two years’ work experience at Theta encompassed several tasks ranging from conducting business requirements study with end users, preparing functional requirement specifications (FRS) documents, and writing user manuals for end-users and trainers. At Theta, I was thrown into the deep-end of technical writing, but I used to the opportunity to challenge myself, and in the process created templates the company could use for all future technical documents.At present, I am a Content Developer tech lead for the Esri International Support Centre (ISC). I started as a content writer in the company in 2013. The job demanded for a focus on copy editing and writing, two of my passion, with a strong emphasis on quality. These skills were called to the fore when copy editing and writing Wiki GIS articles, blog posts, newsletters and most importantly technical articles for the Esri Support site. In 2015, I was promoted to team lead of the content development team, and the it has been a rewarding journey thus far. I've learnt how to manage, delegate, coach, and mentor my team, and I'm constantly looking for ways to motivate and inspire the people I am leading. I am a firm believer of pursuing what you are passionate about and working hard to achieve your goals. My personal quote is ‘The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will’ reflecting my importance of preserving a can-do attitude in the face of any challenges presented.
