Ayma Therapeutics (https://aymatx.com/) is an IND-stage company developing AYX-101 (RBC encapsulated small molecule drug) for the treatment of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) including COVID-19 associated ARDS (CARDS). One major impact of my modeling and simulations (M&S) efforts on AYX-101 has been design and successful completion of proof-of-concept for its delivery in a pre-clinical model. I continue to advise Ayma on M&S strategies to optimize development of AYX-101 towards successful regulatory submissions for the initiation of Phase 1 trials.

Developed a population (mixed effects) model of HbA1c response to changes in Fasting Plasma Glucose (FPG) due to a drug in diabetes patients which accurately predicted week 12 HbA1c % based on up-to 4 weeks of FPG and HbA1c % measurements. Showed that valuable information can be derived from such a model. Developed modelling and simulations framework to help design and execute an optimal phase II/phase III trial based on trade-offs between various constraints.
