Raj is the Los Angeles office managing partner in Deloitte’s Risk and Financial Advisory practice focused on M&A accounting and reporting and on transformation within Finance. He has served as a trusted advisor to executive management in solving problems and developing strategies to successfully support and execute M&A transactions in today's highly regulated business environment. He has deep experience with divestitures, carve-out financial statements, purchase accounting and accounting policy & process integration in the M&A consultative services area especially as it relates to the media and technology sectors. Raj’s background includes technical expertise in US GAAP and IFRS accounting for revenue recognition, lease and foreign exchange processes and SEC financial reporting. Raj currently serves as Global Lead Business Partner for an iconic mega media client. He also serves as the Operating Portfolio leader of US India (USI) for Transactions and M&A practice in the US firm's largest investment overseas and Global Innovation Center. He is responsible for driving the market in USI for M&A, Capital Projects, Restructuring, Portfolio Valuation and Corporate Finance for several Global Strategic Clients and to support the the US Risk and Financial Advisory Practice. In addition, Raj also serves as the Technology, Media and Telecom industry leader for the US M&A advisory business and the Los Angeles office managing partner for RFA. Raj’s recent experiences include leading a multi-year large post-merger integrations and segment realignment projects at a mega media company and on finance business advisory related to SAP S4/HANA in helping shape transformation activities for corporate controllership at a market leader within the Technology sector. Raj has also led finance function separation activities within region controllership in divestitures including establishing legal entity PMO, country cutover playbooks, finance country planning and achieving alignment with global finance in a divestiture. He has also led engagements around SEC filings of carve-out financial statements in a spin-off transaction, Day 1 Balance Sheet split, GAAP and regulatory pro forma reporting, IPO readiness and preparing registration statements, process improvements, SOX assessments and purchase price allocations.
