Led the development of several critical components of a Network Management System (NMS) for a large-scale Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) switch. Responsibilities were to define overall system requirements and system architecture for the first generation of NMS product. Led a team of 12 engineers during the integration testing for the AIN products. For the Service Control Point (SCP) product, developed a generic system architecture that could simultaneously support several versions of the AIN protocols such as CS-1, R0.1, and R0.2.

Played a key role in the implementation of NEC’s initial versions of the AIN products. Designed and developed several software components for the SMS and SCP systems. Key member of the software development team for NEC’s public digital switching system (NEAX61E). Designed and developed switching system software for several features, voice-mail features, Centrex features, ISDN features, and an SS7-based interface to transfer subscriber billing data from a remote switch to the host switch.Spent 11 months in Japan as a key liaison between the U.S. and Japanese development teams. Co-authored a technical paper describing the SMS/SCP database synchronization process. Paper published at NEC’s Annual Worldwide Software Conference.
