Raj Raman is a valuable member of several advisory council panels, including the NSW Local Government Multicultural Network, M-NSW Regional Community Network, NSW Anti Racism Working Group, Strengthening Regional Support, Growth and Recovery Forum, and Multicultural and Small & Family Business workgroups. He has a unique blend of project management experience in corporate settings and extensive community engagement/development experience. Raj has six years of international community development experience working with socio-economically disadvantaged groups, including vulnerable indigenous communities in the South Asian region.Raj's advocacy skills have enabled him to secure funding from local government programs and start two social entrepreneurship organisations. He has also provided leadership for capacity-building initiatives and set the strategic direction for these organisations, thereby empowering local communities. His contributions to various socio-economic programs have had significant positive outcomes, enriching and equipping local communities to meet their socio-economic needs.With over 15 years of experience at Singtel Optus, Sydney, Raj has led various projects and programs, working with diverse internal and external stakeholders. He has received numerous awards for his service delivery and contributions to various projects. After completing his Diploma of Community Services, Raj supported various projects and programs for a Sydney NFP organisation, including IT Inclusion & Business Connect Projects, Digital Literacy & Social inclusion programs, and other projects that supported vulnerable multicultural local/regional groups and communities. Currently, Raj works as a Business Services Program Manager, collaborating and engaging with various stakeholders across Greater Sydney and Regional NSW, including local CALD communities and businesses, multicultural business advisors, local councils, state and federal governments, and other service providers.Raj is passionate about using his advocacy skills and knowledge to support inclusive socio-economic development for diverse and vulnerable communities and address emerging issues through community engagement and community development framework.
