Immunicom, Inc., is a medical technology company that has been awarded FDA Breakthrough Device Designation for its non-pharmaceutical solution for treating stage IV metastatic cancer. My primary responsibility is to provide guidance and oversight to both internal and customer-facing initiatives and build the required balance to deliver results.

Consultant brought in to provide database design, development of analytics, project management / coordination between clients and delivery teams, and solution delivery over the full software development life cycle (SDLC) using Agile development methodologies. Focus is on solutions in healthcare arena including device connectivity, infrastructure setup, security design, patient / EHR solutions using open-source technologies including big data solutions using lambda architecture and data lake concepts. o Function as an independent contributor in a geographically dispersed team (U.S., China, and India, with over 30 team members). Serve as database designer for the project. Manage communications between enterprise architect, project manager, and offshore delivery team, coordinating activities of daily development team. o Managed development of a survey application for a start-up company, working in collaboration with US FDA, from inception to production system release utilizing both onshore and offshore resources. Represented client in technical discussions for integration of systems with organizations enrolling patients to utilize the system.o Worked with the Director of Software Engineering to develop prototype for a start-up medical devices research company. Acted as the point-of-contact with the customer, managing all software architecture and development services. Contributed to pre-sales activities and provided content for proposal development. Elaborated design concepts and created specs for offshore development team that furthered efforts in prototype development.

Promoted to build data analytics product and database center of expertise. Subsequently oversaw infrastructure expansion, support, and management functions for Pharmacy Solutions. Reported to the Director of Applications Development. Hired and mentored database experts on design and development activities. Led the selection process and worked with vendors and enterprise architects to secure Architectural Review Boards’ (ARB) approval. Analyzed requirements, prepared RFP, researched solutions, connected with vendors, monitored the prototype development and completed the selection process. Produced analytical product presented at HIMSS conference in 2008. o Evaluated and selected Cloverleaf interface engine solution to connect hospital information system and enhance capabilities of Medication Order Management System. Secured Board approval to bring new software tool into Cardinal.o Led technology refresh of computing environments that aided series of EIT initiatives, including virtualization, cloud computing, power reduction, and improvement of overall underlying technology. o Built Cardinal Health’s analytical dashboard that established the foundation for multiple other products at Carefusion (spin-off from Cardinal Health).o Led and mentored database team in building large databases and improving data integrity. Interacted with enterprise architects on redefining future architecture.

Promoted to build database for next generation of products, develop data-centric approach for product builds, construct analytic products, and assemble database design team. Managed highly technical, geographically dispersed team in the U.S. and Canada. Reported directly to Vice President of Architecture; worked with the Office of the CTO on database strategies and product development plans. Challenged to address and resolve issue with database-legacy systems as well as overcome resistance of engineering team to database design technology as a building block for future products.o Established industry standard database design/development practices for the first time in the company’s history, earning commendations from senior leadership on team building and data analytics product improvements.o Defined data strategy for next generation of Pyxis products. Built team, purchased data modeling tools, set modeling standards/patterns, and established integrated data model framework for presentation to R&D team.o Evaluated simulation software iRise and recommended its purchase to upper management, leading to reduced time required for creating visual working demonstration of new product concepts.

Hired as a database consultant and earned promotion to development manager position. Oversaw development team of 12 for all web applications. Led the development and database design teams for mission-critical EBPP system. Recruited, hired, and trained high-output team of diverse specialists.o Drove EBPP solution that generated 250,000 users within 3 months (Online Bill Payment & Presentment system), with solution subsequently extended to multiple related applications using databases previously designed and implemented.
