Conducted all the interviews, and then wrote all the articles in three weeks. • Consulted with some of Japan’s top scientific organizations, such as RIKEN and Tohoku University, to ensure that the promotional materials produced for them reached the targeted audience.

• Maintained and strengthened multiple projects covering a variety of industries and technologies, such as green technology and chemical materials, thereby generating benefits for my clients. • Promoted Adlens, a glasses manufacturer, at a major international trade show at Tokyo Big Sight, IOFT. This involved coordinating the production all the promotional materials for the booth in English, attending the event to promoting the product face-to-face to potential buyers. • Conducted a marketing campaign targeting 500 scientists and trading companies in Japan in order to increase the market presence in Japan of one of my clients, Goodfellow (supplier metals, alloys and compounds).

• Analyzed the way clients such as Adobe, Vodafone and Sony were portrayed in English and Japanese social media (Facebook, Twitter, blogs).• Speedily analyzed coverage and inputted it into the online system, adding comments that gave clients a concise “snapshot” of how they were perceived by their target audience.

• As both an editor and writer used time management skills and self-discipline to meet both editing and writing deadlines speedily and flexibly. • As the chief editor of the Bilingual page (a once-a-week page dedicated to non-Japanese learners of Japanese) led a team of five outside writers, commissioning them to write stories, checking and editing their English copy, and troubleshooting.• Used initiative to come up with original story ideas, including inside the air traffic control tower at Haneda Airport, taking a ride in a Zeppelin, and an exclusive two-page interview with the Dalai Lama. • Stories were read by a readership of over 100,000 for the print edition of The Japan Times and thousands more online.

• Worked closely with Sony in order to market Sony Overseas Models (handycams, cameras, etc.) through a series of 22 advertorials over a two-year period to the target audience (overseas tourists to Japan). Emphasis was placed on the reputation of Sony as a truly international brand. Sony was so pleased that they doubled the number of ads they placed in The Japan Times.• Wrote dozens of advertorials for a wide variety of industries, including real estate (Mori Building), the food industry and retail outlets. • Maintained and strengthened relationships with representatives from many major Japanese firms including Dentsu (advertising) and Mori Building (real estate).

• Translated marketing research reports and questionnaires for projects conducted on behalf of multinational clients such as Coca-Cola and Unilever.• Interpreted at presentations given by Japanese colleagues to foreign clients.

• Confidently taught in front of large groups using my own lesson plans.
