Leading the BI Support Team for Australia

Established a business to offer Business Intelligence services to small and medium businesses. I was designing and implementing data warehouses, ETL and data management processes, reporting systems and dashboards and data visualisations. Handed over business to extended family and returned to Melbourne due to wife’s ill health and COVID-19 situation in India.

Open University Australia is a consortium of 8 Australian Universities offering on-line undergraduate and post graduate courses. A new Line of Business offering on-line courses (MOOCs on the line of Coursera). I was responsible for the design of data warehouse was to be established for implementing Business Analytics to support students and the organisation. I was also responsible for designing the self sevice reporting and analytics platform to be accessed by students.The business initiative was dropped and my contract was not renewed.

Telstra Global is a subsidiary of Telstra Australia with head office in Hong Kong and global operations. Due to Mergers and Acquisitions, it had inherited disparate ERP systems leading to inefficiencies and data quality issues. Program Evolution was for integration of the data from all the systems into a centralised system at Hong Kong. The responsibilities of Data Stream Lead were• Development of automated Data Quality Monitoring and Reporting • Provide reports and information to Data Governance committee comprising of representatives from Hong Kong, UK, Australia and Asia• Secretary of the Data Governance Committee I was offered a generous voluntary redundancy package and I took it.

Telstra is the leading Telecommunications company in Australia and a household name.My responsibilities in this position were:• Data Analysis and Reporting• Data profiling and extraction. Automation of data extracts.• Business user training for “Understanding Data” and “Data Analytics using Tableau”• Prepared and presented paper on Big Data to IT management• Managed POC for big data technologiesI was seconded to Telstra Global

Sensis is a leading media company that was a subsidiary of Telstra and the publisher of White Pages, Yellow Pages and managed a few other web sites.My responsibilities in this role were:• Data analysis and profiling • Data mapping for Enterprise Data Warehouse and Data Lakes• Business user training for “Understanding and exploiting your data”• Information Management and Reporting initiatives for Sensis Sales persons.I took a transfer to Telstra.

Coca Cola Amatil is the primary bottler for Coca Cola in the AsiaPac region.
