In this study, I have concentrated on the basic structure-activity relationship for high-temperature graphite gasification using a cutting-edge transient pulse response reactor.2. Through controlled surface perturbation with isotopes and a detailed reaction network analysis of intrinsic kinetics, I have successfully clarified the oxygen transfer mechanisms in carbon oxidation.Project 2: Methane Upgrading Using Dynamic Energy Supply1. The possibility of increasing the frequency of process switching in methane dehydroaromatization (MDA) was assessed for managing power dynamics in nuclear power plants, with a focus on switching between the endothermic formation of benzene and the exothermic regeneration of the non-oxidative catalyst.2. During the initial stages of the project, the viability of using hydrogen feed and metal nanoparticles to remove/divert coke was evaluated through process validation.

The role of formaldehyde as an intermediate in methane activation and methanol production was evaluated using copper-ceria and iron oxide catalysts. Bioethanol conversion to hydrocarbons: Role of products and intermediates 1. The utilization of renewable feedstocks such as bioethanol as a replacement for traditional fossil fuel-based chemicals was successfully differentiated and elucidated with respect to adsorption and product formation routes over zeolite catalysts.2. Potential hydrocarbon probe molecules were used as experimental strategies to unravel the surface-sensitive reactions of hydrocarbon chemistries.3. Intrinsic kinetic data simulations were used to bridge high-pressure flow experimental data to Ab initio calculations for reaction path analysis.4. As the setup manager for the reactor, I supervised other projects involving methane dry reforming and ethanol dehydrogenation.

Catalyst support for dry reforming of methane1. The crystalline phases of the zirconia catalyst were synthesized by regulating the pH, and the resulting phases were validated using powder X-ray diffraction (XRD).2. The reducibility of the catalyst was assessed through hydrogen temperature programmed desorption (TPD), and additional catalyst characterization data such as BET and SEM were examined to screen for an optimized catalyst.

Project 1: Styrene epoxidation by mesoporous catalysts (Ga-TUD-1) in liquid phaseMesoporous TUD-1 catalysts, both doped and undoped with gallium, were synthesized and characterized for their effectiveness in styrene epoxidation reactions. By identifying preferred gallium locations through structural characterization, an enhancement in catalyst lifetime was achieved.Project 2: Catalyst synthesis and characterizationCatalysts consisting of ceria, zirconia, and samarium oxide were synthesized using the Sol-Gel process. In order to achieve active gold chemistries, nanoparticles smaller than 5 nm were synthesized using the homogeneous deposition precipitation method.
