Dr. Rakesh K. S. is associated with RVCA as a Professor and Vice-Principal. He received his B. Arch., M. Arch., and Ph.D. degrees from the School of Architecture and Planning [SAP], Anna University, Chennai. He is a CII - Indian Green Buildings Council Accredited Professional (IGBC AP).He has been an academician for more than 26 years, holding administrative positions and teaching in various institutions like SPA Vijayawada, Sathyabama University Chennai, RVS Institutions Coimbatore, Nehru Institutions Palakkad and BMS School of Architecture Bengaluru.His interests span climatic design, sustainable architecture, and contemporary architecture. He has been a member of the Board of Studies [B.Arch. & M.Arch.] at SPA Vijayawada, Anna University Chennai, Sathyabama University Chennai, and the University of Calicut, Kerala.He has been associated with the Council of Architecture as an Inspection Committee member. He has served as the Treasurer of IIA Palakkad Chapter and as the Co-Convener of INTACH Palakkad Chapter.He served as a member of the Committee for monitoring and advising on new campus construction at IIT Palakkad.He has experience in NAAC accreditation, having served as the IQAC Coordinator at BMS School of Architecture, Bengaluru.He has been invited for guest lectures at various institutions including IIT Palakkad, XIM University Bhubaneshwar, and School of Architecture and Planning, Chennai. He has served as an External Examiner at various institutions including SPA Vijayawada, SAP Anna University Chennai, SRM University Chennai, Hindustan University Chennai, and Dr. MGR University Chennai.He has served as a Doctoral Committee member at Sathyabama University Chennai and as a Ph.D. Examiner at Sushant University, Gurugram. He is a reviewer of the Journal of the Institution of Engineers (India). He is fluent in English and Hindi with a working knowledge of Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali, and German.
