Geoscientists Canada is the national organization of the 9 provincial and territorial regulatory bodies that govern Canada’s professional geoscientists and geoscientists- in-training. Geoscientists Canada co-ordinates development of high national standards of admissions, competency, practice and mobility to ensure that Canada is served by a skilled, versatile, reputable and accountable geoscience profession.

The Executive Assistant to the CEO APEGBC and the CEO Geoscientists Canada (GC) plays a dual role: - the first and foremost in supporting the CEO Geoscientists Canada and in serving as the key liaison and provider for all support-level activities at Geoscientists Canada; the second in providing back up support to the CEO APEGBC when the regular EA is unavailable. There is also a third role: - providing administrative support for the Governance and Audit Committees of APEGBC. In terms of time, providing support to GC is the dominant role; the support for the Governance Committee is the next biggest commitment but much smaller than the support for GC. In this role, it is necessary to balance priorities and time allocation around the needs of the both GC and APEGBC, and at the same time there is responsibility for a wide range of functions concerning the operations of Geoscientists Canada at the supporting level - such as arranging out of town meeting venues, meetings logistics, minute taking, website, administrative support for Board of Directors, President and Executive Committee, and national committee and task forces; and corporate and operational files and documentation. As Executive Assistant to both CEOs, provides confidential and personal administrative support.
