The Institution of Engineers (India) Civil, BIT Mesra is a platform where we give students several opportunities to show their talents in practical field. It is an endeavour to make students learn the practical side of engineering and innovation rather than sticking to just the theory.

The construction of Embankments, Subgrade, Granular Sub Base (GSB), Wet Mix Macadam (WMM), Dense Bituminous Macadam (DBM) and Bituminous Concrete (BC) with respect to the MORTH specifications and the implementation of project in extensive detail with respect to the plan were the key concepts learnt during the Summer Training. It also includes the construction of Culverts, Bridges and the testing of the materials used in the roads and various drainage structures.Equipments used: Hot Mix Plant, Dumper, Pay Loader, Bituminous Paver, Pneumatic tyre roller, Vibratory roller andTesting Machines
